Update! Lobectomy tomorrow

Postby Ajane » Wed May 27, 2015 9:32 pm

Well, It's ten hours away. I can hardly believe it. At peace but yet fearful of the pain. My surgeon doesn't tend to give epidurals. Says he prefers the internal lidocaine pump and morphine for pain control. I'll let you all know how it went as soon as I'm able to get online. I'm definitely ready to get this over and do whatever else needs to be done. They say my 10.5mm solitary met is not a candidate for wedge so the lobe's gotta go. The good news is it's being done with curative intent. Time will tell. Hope they're right.
Well, guess I've procrastinated enough. Gotta be up in 5 1/2 hours, so off to bed I go. Catch ya'll on the flip side. Jane

P.S. And, oh yes, prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Update: It's now 4 days after my Thurs morning surgery (Sunday evening about 8pm). They've been no complications! Just a lot of drainage. It finally slowed and chest tube was pulled about noontime..what a relief. The plan is to send me home tomorrow. I'm hoping to get good news-the complete path results before they cut me loose (fingers crossed). If not, I'll still relish in the fact that I'm going home! Just call me Dorothy...cause there's no place like home!
