Exaussie, it's always a party at my house

I'll take the shots if this happens again, not that I don't like the three week schedule.

Kenny, my onc told me the BOLUS dose of 5FU has not been shown to help significantly. She dropped my bolus and kept me on the &^$*) pump. Maybe your onc would do the same?

Give yourself a nice break,

Love,

FOLFOX was death to my WBC. I was needing 3 neupogen shots before every treatment for the last few. Before each injection I used to get an antihistimine, which somehow mitigated the bone pain.

Anyway--enjoy your break from the fury. I'm probably telling you stuff you already know!

My MDA onc also said 5-FU bolus hasn't been shown to help, nor the leucovorin, they just make side effects worse. Didn't question it, just glad for a break. For whatever reason, my counts have always been good... so lucky me, I'll get the juice and think of you!

I do not get it - why not Xeliri, Kenny? Why do you need pump, bolus, etc, when you can have oral? I do not like that reaction with WBC so very soon, in the beginning of the treatment....You need fury, you have to continue...

Vilca, Some oncs, like mine, insist on the full fury with pump, bolus etc. I tried arguing for xeliri (and Xeloda the first time around) and was told no. Some would change oncs I guess. I'm tired of arguing--with docs, insurance co's, etc. Also, I had to get neulasta after my 2nd or 3 tx.

Vilca,
I let them talk me into the pump, I could have done xeleri. Actually the pump, was nowhere near as inconvenient as I thought it would be. I'm wondering if being on xeloda on and off for the last year and then adding the fury to the mix was too much for the ole wbc's? I think I wasn't that low 1.44 and he wanted me to be at 1.5 ?

Bev, my onc said he would adjust the bolus, didn't mention cutting it out but I'll ask.

Sucks on the wbc count, but hopefully that extra week will build you back up. They dropped my bolus dose for the last two treatments because I kept getting dehydrated.
