Vitamin C

Postby Cherie » Thu May 21, 2015 3:12 am

So I have had a few question on my vitamin C treatments that i'm going to answer here.

I take one gram per killo of body weight. So I am given 60grams over two / three hours intravenously. It has been very hard on my crappy veins and I now have a pic line in. Before the treatment I HAVE TO HAVE a large meal then I eat throughout the treatment. It will drop your blood sugar levels and make you feel crappy for the day. Even worse if you haven't eaten. I had it two days ago, and today I have what I would call, a healthy persons energy level. Without it I slow down and struggle with energy. It has not been a miracle cure for colds but since starting it I have seen no new growth of cancer. (I may just have slow growing cancer.) I know people who will tell you it cures cancer and I know people have died even though they used it. So its a wait and see. I'm off to see a HIPEC surgeon and I'd just love him to open me up and find nothing there .....heres hoping for a miracle.

Thanks for letting us know.
Ascorbic acid for injection (ascorbic acid buffered with sodium bicarbonate, only partly neutralized), the standard C solution of commerce designed for stability rather than comfort, is much harder on the veins than solutions made with pure sodium ascorbate. Also inadequate magnesium chloride or sulfate in the injectant irritates the veins. It might be worthwhile to discuss fasting blood glucose readings and glucose time tolerances (BG levels during/after a sugary meal) here as possible. Used along with citrus juices, we only witness a sag and some sleep shortly after 1+ gram/kg, starting at Fasting Blood Glucose ~6 mmol/L (106 mg/dl).

Cherie,

Have you considered having a port installed under your skin, usually in the upper chest area. It makes vitamin C infusions so much easier, the connect / disconnect only takes a minute or so. There is also no vein irritation, as the vitamin C gets delivered right to the input side of the heart.

For the record, I take 80 grams of vitamin C over 2 hours and don't experience any blood glucose drop or related fatigue. It has not stopped any lesion growth for me, I am hoping it slows down the growth rate a bit, but I can't quantify this in any way.

Cherie,

I want to thank you for posting about your experience with vitamin C IV. I did a few when I first started FOLFIRI. I had a fantastic response, initially. Now, I'm stable. After reading your post, I decided to give the IV C another go. I've had two. I feel great! I gardened last weakend, right after the bottle came off. Lifting dirt, digging....all kids of fun. I noticed right after I feel awful, then give it a few hours and I have this amazing burst of energy. Thank you so much. Your post and experience gave me the kick to give it another go.
