Four year anniversary stage 4

four years ago today on Friday the 13th no less my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer...mets to liver. A year later stage 1 breast cancer. Four years later she is going strong and is NED after several reoccurrences. Here is to hoping for another clean scan in a few weeks after she goes camping! and I know if it's not we will attack it again. Here is to a wonderful summer and a great Jamaica vacation together. I love her with all my heart. She has handled it with grace and determination and somehow never makes it about her although it should be at times. I continue to hope. I continue to think of each and every one of you. We have adjusted to a new normal and we live our lives to the fullest no matter what. She is my best friend. I love you mom.

Thanks for posting this wonderful and encouraging update on your dear mom. She is so fortunate to have such a loving and compassionate daughter. I hope the next scan proves her to still be residing in NEDsvile.

I am very happy for you and your mom, dear girl! My daughter feels the same and I am too fixing it as it comes for 3.5years since mets in liver... It will be all right, do not worry - we will hang in until immunotherapy for us is ready, be sure of that....

Thanks to all for the wonderful comments. I pray and think of you everyday. My mom is a huge comfort in my life (found out some crazy news these past few weeks that has rocked me and puts the past three years of my life in a new light with my marriage, i bet if you all thought hard enough you can figure it out. Mom and I suspected but I finally got proof). I have leaned on her so much and I said to her I feel bad that during the end of this NED stretch she has had to deal with this stress and not enjoy the last few weeks before the next scan and she said it doesn't matter that life isn't perfect and I am her daughter. I told her at least it gives us even more interesting stuff to talk about:-) She is ALWAYS there for me.
