That's great. You deserve good news.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 9 years NED). Is this real life?

Hi Bev,

Sorry to hear about your possible setback. In the unlikely event that it is some kind of mediastinal lymphoma, it can be treated successfully with a very high cure rate. R-CHOP chemotherapy melts those kind of lesions away, even large ones.

10/2014: left hemi-colectomy, splenic flexure tumor 3.2 x 3.8 x .9 cm, pT4a N2B M0 stage 3, 13/14 lymph nodes positive, moderately to poorly differentiated, MMR-proficient, MSI-stable, lympho vascular invasion, large venous invasion, perineural invasion
11/2014 - present: vitamin C infusions, green tea extract, salvestrol, saffron, vitamin D3, cannabis oil (CBD), many other supplements, celebrex, metformin, digoxen, cimetidine
11/2014-4/2015: 12 cycles of FOLFOX chemotherapy, 3 cycles normal oxaliplaten, 6 cycles reduced oxaliplaten, 3 cycles no oxaliplaten
5/2015 PET scan: 2.5 x 1.5 cm soft tissue lesion behind left colon SUV 5.8, small 7 mm lesion on front abdominal wall SUV 3.5, mild soft tissue mass in the upper right front abdominal wall along peritoneal surface SUV 2.4
5/2015: core needle biopsy of 2.5 x 1.5 cm lesion, pathology is positive for colon cancer (adenocarcinoma)

Thanks, Hawk.

I got my results today from the 9 biopsies they took on Monday and they were all negative for cancer. :D There was some weird finding which the pulmonary oncologist said I need not worry about and which does not require follow-up. It was a very scary possibility, and then really much ado about nothing. When the pulmonary onc called me today he said going into the surgery Monday he felt I had a greater than 50/50 chance of this being lung cancer (despite no FDG on my PET!) so he was relieved as well. I repeat my thanks to everyone who comforted me throughout this latest deal. Sorry to have made a fuss about nothing. You're all wonderful.

Love,

Bev

It wasn't nothing, it was a terrifying ordeal & you needed all the love and support in the world to get through it safely. Thank the (insert prefered terminology here: Lord, stars, powers that be, gods, Easter Bunny, etc.) that you are okay. I'd say that going through a scare like that gives you a free pass on any cancer related issues for the rest of your life. I can't tell you how relieved I am to know we will have you for many years to come. We all love you Bev. XXOXO, Delinda
