Hi

Postby kpjpmom » Tue Apr 21, 2015 6:47 am

I have been MIA due to this first Folfri infusion. I have been having to get fluids several times and they think I may be having radiation inflammation causing severe diarrhea. I have been down since the 16th.This has been a mess. Irrotecan is not my friend this time around. Anyone out there stop the Iri and what did you do next?

Have only done folfox and folfri with erbiux so far. thanks for your help.

I feel your misery. Folfiri was not a friend to me either. It turned out the I was lacking the enzyme to break it down so I needed a much smaller dose than normally prescribed. I tried Tincture of Opium (drops) and self injections of Sandostatin (they worked for a little while).

Good luck to you. Even though it was hell, it bought me more time and I'm still here. I hope it gets easier for you.

Ugh - sorry to hear that it is giving you so much trouble. Did they give you atropine? I found the atropine shot + lomotil as needed (has atropine in it) worked much better to control the diarrhea. Good luck - dehydration has been my problem with chemo since I got the ileostomy. And I was on FOLFOX during that time.

I have been on atropine and Imodium for the last 8 days.i have also been on the brat diet. The big d finally has slowed down. This has been quite a trial. I had done this regime in 2012 and did not have these problems. I am feeling more like myself. Thanks for the responses!
