Yawn .....

I be in the town where the eponymously named Canucks ...
shall once again endeavor to practice their golf games as soon as respectably possible.

...... YAWN

tho' I shall try to wake up for the semifinals, quarterfinals if things get really heated

Do you root for any Canadian team against US teams? That might be less of a yawn...

Like, doesn't it drive you crazy that LA and Dallas have NHL teams??!!

Even though I am officially an Honorary Canadian, I'm still a fraud because I can't properly pronounce the national sport. With me, it's more like "hackie" than "hawkee."

I'm from Montreal, where you only know that spring has arrived when the Stanley Cup playoffs have started.

The city and 'burbs are adorned with thousands of Habs flags and 200$ hockey shirts. The 8-hour workday unofficially includes at least 1 hour of post-game debate and revelry (if the Habs win). And even folks like BB who don't know how to pronounce the name of the game suddenly live and breathe hockey 24/7. It's a joyous time to be in Montreal, for sure.

And when the Habs' golf season inevitably begins earlier than hoped for, the whole city goes into mourning for a day. The party picks up again soon after, cause the sun is shining and we be happy people :-)

As for trash talking: Skypup, did you forget that we're Canadians? We're much too polite for that ;-)

Hockey !! I have a pin in my left ankle that almost cratered on me the LAST
TIME I ever played that game. It's a pin from an old ankle injury I sustained years
ago that impedes my movements at times. I have climbed many mountains and
walked on rough terrain in my time and this old injury still haunts me to this day.
I have learned to live with the pain. I am cheering for the Habs !!
I was born and raised in Montreal. I love that city. My only wish is that they would
stop bullying the rest of Canada about always wanting things THEIR way.
If Montreal was in any other province, I would probably be living there now.

If Vegas starts one then you could :
bet on the game, lose your money, watch the game live and leave all the bad memories behind
'cos what "plays" in Vegas stays in Vegas !

seriously Skypup yes I can be ....
as long as the best teams are going postal on each other ... metaphorically .... and the officials don't "decide" the outcome,
I really don't care too much who wins. I only wanna see great hockey at top speed with skill, execution, heart and guts,
and intense physical devotion to the win...... which is why in this day I only get interested in the quarter/semifinal stages, or Olympics, or World Juniors.
The rest is now a too diuted, money grabbing business enterprise with no hockey heart and soul...
just a bunch of rich whiny &(^&%#$% a-holes.

Of course only in my humble opinion

The Montreal Canadien (French: Les Canadiens de Montréal) are a professional ice hockey team based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They are members of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The club's official name is le Club de hockey Canadien. French nicknames for the team include Les Canadiens (or Le Canadien), Le Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, La Sainte-Flanelle, Le Tricolore, Les Glorieux (or Nos Glorieux), Les Habitants, Le CH and Le Grand Club. The team's main English nickname is the Habs, an abbreviation of "Les Habitants"

Founded in 1909, the Canadiens are the longest continuously operating professional ice hockey team and the only existing NHL club to predate the founding of the NHL. One of the oldest North American professional sports franchises, the Canadiens' history predates that of every other Canadian franchise outside of football as well as every American franchise outside of baseball and the National Football League's Arizona Cardinals. The franchise is one of the "Original Six" teams, a description used for the teams that made up the NHL from 1942 until the 1967 expansion. The team's championship season in 1992–93 was the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup.

Ah, i'm feeling the Montreal love from muskokamike and Frenchie...

Muskokamike: my condoleances for being a Leafs fan. It's such a hard yet brave thing to be ;-)

Frenchie: not to dwell on politics too much, but i'm sure we'd get along just fine. I am definitely Canadian through and through :-)

Getting ready to watch the game. Go Habs Go!

No trash talking from me, i'm humbly appreciative the Penguins squeaked in the playoff at the last minute. They'll probably be golfing soon, but they're still my team. 8)
