Oncologist appointment Monday

Postby DarknessEmbraced » Fri Apr 17, 2015 10:10 am

I'm so glad that I see my oncologist Monday. I get my CEA tested the same day and they get the results back that day. I'm going to tell my oncologist about all of the symptoms I've been experiencing. The bowel issues, the cramping pain, the extreme tiredness/low energy, low grade temperatures, sometimes cold sweats/weakness/nausea,foggy mind, bloating. It's hard not to worry that the cancer will come back or that it's not really gone at all.

Im so sorry you're having such a rough time right now. I hope you will get the answers you need to help squelch your fear of recurrence. I know it's hard not to worry - I do too - every time there is an unexpected pain somewhere in the abdomen - and there have been many. I have to make an effort to tell myself that worrying won't change anything and if I let worry take over, I'll lose out on enjoying life.

I hope the Onc will be able to give you relief from your symptoms and answers that will give you peace of mind. Sending you a hug.

DE--don't forget that your tumor tested positive for microsatellite instability, which means your cancer was less aggressive than most and considerably less likely to metastasize. Try not to worry!

I have an appointment Monday too! My first blood work since completing chemo & inital scan. I've been having pains in my belly too, but that could be from something else too. I was very nervous about it but have mellowed out for some reason. It is what it is & I can't change or control any of it. Good luck to you, hope your numbers are great. I'll get my blood results when I see the onc. We should compare notes Monday night. Try not to worry. XXOXO, Delinda
