CEA back to normal after bacterial infection cleared

Whew! My CEA dropped back to normal after 10 days on Keflex for a bacterial infection of my throat and sinuses.

Thanks for all the kind words! Now I can relax for 6 months!
Stage III cc surgery 1/7/09. 12 tx FOLFOX
Stage IV PET = 1.5cm liver met. HR 4/11/12

14 years since dx and 11 years post liver resection.
Pronounced CURED and discharged by onc

Thanks so much for letting us know. I'm very happy for you, Diane.

I'm just so sorry you (and others) have to go through the anxiety each time you get a CT scan or have your CEA checked. I remember my husband feeling anxious each time as well. It's just another example of how insidious cancer is; even when you are in "the clear", you still worry.

I'm late on your posts and i got lost in the follow so I only had 3minutes of Freaking out. Glad everything is back to baseline....YIKES...That Must have been a long week for you.
Colonoscopy 3/10 for ? hemmorrhoid.
Diag Colon Cancer 3 days later
Colon Ressection 3/30/10
Stage 3B 5/14 Nodes positive.
Power Port and 7 months of Chemo
Port removed 11/11
8 negative Cat Scans..... 10 years cancer free and Discharged from Sloane Kett!!
Diag age 47 , now 57 Mom of 3 boys.

That's great. I'm hoping that's the cause for my recent CEA rise.
Male Age 53. Dx CC with numerous liver mets 6/23/12. Colon res 6/24/12. Started folfox 7/24/12. Added avastin 8/27/12. CT 12/27/12 still showing shrink. Took 17 rounds of FOLFOX. Then 5-FU + Avastin. Switched to Irinotecan for 1 yr. CEA rose to >400. Switched to Vectibix 2/18/15. CEA decreasing. Scans show some growth in liver mets. Lung Mets stable to shrinking.
