Hi Cherie,
I am by no means an Aussie (though I do enjoy their company). But I did do a little poking around and wondered if you had given any thought to Professor David Morris (I believe he may be based out of New South Wales)? According to a past forum poster from Oz (so perhaps take with a grain of salt), Dr. Morris has done hundreds of HIPECs and can be pretty aggressive.

Either way, sending you good thoughts for a positive turn of luck, you deserve it!

Cherie

The only fellow I have ever heard of is David Morris at St George in Sydney. Not sure how you'd go in getting him to do it as you are not covered under medicare (free public health) and they limit his theater time due to financial constraints so I would assume as a Kiwi you will have to pay for it yourself but if I was in your situation I would certainly contact him at the least

Maia posted his details on this link below:

Hi Cherie,

You are young - I feel that you need to treat this aggressively - anyway, I did a quick search and found this website - this centre is in Melbourne, Victoria. It seems like they do HIPEC.

A member here tiggie_train went to Peter Mac Cancer Centre in Melbourne for HIPEC in December 2013.
Sadly, she had signet ring cell cancer (aggressive) and her HIPEC did not proceed due to extensive spread and she has since passed away.

Peter Mac Cancer Centre is well respected in Melbourne so it is worth looking into.

Wishing you the best possible outcome Cherie.

Do you read Peter Trayhurn's blog (petertrayhurn.blogspot.com)? He is an aussie with his own take on battling cancer and mentioned not long ago that a HIPEC surgeon in oz is going to take him on. If you scan back maybe a month or two, I know you will find it.

Sending you much love!

I decided long ago that if my luck ran out I'd be down to Peter Mac in a flash. This is the best place to go in Oz.

Bit late on this one. But yep David has been mentioned a lot in Aussie cancer forums and the media, and I know some others that have investigated HIPEC at Peter Mac so they would probably be your best places to start some research.
