Hi Guys,
I have a permanent end ileostomy due to a low rectal cancer which was removed 2 years ago. This is my second ostomy and I've had it for just over one year and noticed a month ago a polyp appeared on my stoma. Has anyone dealt with this? Any advice? What does it mean? Ect???
Thank you for sharing your experience with me,
Alys

I have had several granulomas removed from my stoma. They appear as "bumps". They pop up over night. My colorectal surgeon puts silver nitrate on them to remove them. Granulomas are benign. Hope this is what you are talking about.

I had one on mine for about a year. It wasn't growing much at all and at my last scope I pointed it out to the dr, and she took it off. There weren't any more in the colon. She didn't act like it was a big deal.

I've got several growing on my stoma, my GI doc says no big deal...we have just left them alone.

Interesting! Our aromas are basically what is inside us so why would a polyp grow there and not on our insides. Very odd. I'm hoping it is no biggy.
Thank you for the answers!
