I have been MIA for awhile now. I had to give my brain a rest. It is very challenging mentally to be on this roller coaster ride.

I had been focusing on ' end of life ' decisions and the like for months now since I wasn't expected to make it through the summer.

Now that the latest scan shows a reduction in the speed at which my cancer is spreading, I have had to re-focus my thinking. I have been avoiding anything to do with cancer or cancer issues. I needed to stay away from anything related to cancer for awhile. That's why I have been avoiding this site.

Now that it looks like I have more time left on this earth, I want to focus on other things going on in my life.

Right now I am focused on getting back in shape. I had let myself go, thinking that the end was near. Lately, I have been walking 2 to 3 miles almost on a daily basis. Since my lung capacity is limited, I walk at a slower pace but I just keep chugging along. I also started swimming a couple of times a week. There is an excercise room at the pool and I tried working out on the equipment, but I don't have the capacity to make a serious effort.

I have found that exercising has helped get my brain in the right space again.

Having said that, I have to think about cancer again because I am having an operation on the 30th. The metal stint they put in to help my left kidney needs to be replaced every year.
They also want to look at the rest of my plumbing to see if there is anything they can do about my urinating so much blood.

I have also had to stop taking blood thinners of any kind for the same reason. I tend to bleed internally and any type of blood thinners just makes things worse. I will have to take my chances and hope that I don't get another Pulminory Embolisiom or worse.

It's a terrible thing to grow old alone. My wife hasn't had a birthday in 5 years. She walked into the room yesterday and said " Have you seen my flip flops ? " " I've seen them before "I said. "Now go put your bra back on "

Frenchie, I remember once you asked for pictures of toothless folks. I don't remember exactly why, butt I do know that I had fun looking for them.

I enjoyed it almost as much as hearing an update from you. Glad you are getting around and walking.

Hi Frenchie,

I'm so pleased to read your post today, you are amazing, I don't think I could manage as much walking as you do and I'm supposed to be in good health.

It's a great idea to start getting fit, after all you have next Summer to work towards now.

I hope to read more when you get time.

Check my PM

Peanut, your bat signal reached me !
I have been busy finding ways for us to get rich. I have too much time on my hands.

I am working on designing a coat for dogs with pockets that you can insert hand warmers into. The type that you throw in the microwave for a few minutes that then stay warm for hours. Great for long walks , it would keep them toasty warm !

I am looking for just the right type of warmer that is not too bulky and can be re-used often.
I want to make a couple of prototypes for our dogs. Peanut will get the first one !
I will take some pictures.

I have completed a number of projects that I had been putting off, large and small. I even completed a project that I had been putting off for years. I seem to have lots of energy left so I might as well ride this out to the fullest. I could wake up sick at anytime. I have learned to take advantage of everyday.

My BFF was Ironman this year. He made out like a bandit. This is the first year that he offered to share his treats. He is turning into a fine young boy. We go swimming every Saturday. We go during family swim, so there are lots of water toys to play with. We have loads of fun together.

I have not felt this well in the last year or two. I have no idea when the good times are going to end but I sure am enjoying myself.
