I'm just curious, as the doctors want knowledge about your continued good health, are the scans a gratuity ?

Here in Alberta we do not pay for scans, unless you want to jump the wait list and go to a private clinic. For the most part, you get in fairly fast if you "need" to. Everything is covered with our provincial health care system, which at this time, we do not have to pay for either, but that could soon change.

Frenchie »
As some of you have noticed, I haven't been on here much these days. I found that I had to take a step back from all the gloom and doom on this forum recently. I took the deaths of Pollo 65 and Voxx hard. It reminded me of my own mortality.

My darling Frenchie,

We all came here for a reason and stay for other reasons. YOU are one of MY reasons for coming in & out of "retirement" on CT
I am so glad that YOU are hanging on & still managing to live LIFE to it's fullest & do it YOUR WAY. Bravo for Mrs. Frenchie sharing walks with you. I dare say I would join you, if you lived closer! (Now don't go into fantasy's of a "threesome", LOL...... I mean't joining you in your walks, LOL)  8)

......and yes, why wouldn't the Docs marvel at your stamina? I know WE all do!!!!!!!!!!!!

All my love sent your way!

Frenchie, are you out on one of your long walk w/the Mrs? Yep, sometimes we need to take breaks from the board.

Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home
at 7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell he is.

Well, I had a wonderful trip up north. We did not take the scenic route after all. My son had to drop off a care package to my granddaughter at a northern university that was just a little out of our way. I had a chance to visit with her for a bit.

This trip was a little rushed, as I had to be back for my CT scan on Wednesday. We left Friday for the 12 hour trip and drove back on Tuesday. Hardly enough time to enjoy all the neat things to do around his ranch. He's in the oil industry but both he and his wife have a love of horses and live out in the country.

It was nice spending quality time with the three of us together once again. That happens very seldom because of their demanding careers. Maybe once or twice a year. We stay in touch by phone and text.

Did I tell you that my BFF and I tracked down the travelling carnival rides at another fair in a nabouring township the following weekend ? We went on all the rides again !
We are going to a giant corn maze tomorrow a few miles from town. We are always on the lookout for fun things to do.

Good health is merely the slowest rate at which one can die. I still like a good steak. I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to become a vegetarian. I also like bacon and eggs in the morning. A day's work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig.

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Good friends don't let you do stupid things. Best friends don't let you do stupid things alone.

I am frustrated at the moment.

I have been feeling really good lately. My stamina has increased with these long walks.
I have no ackes or pains, life is good.

The problem is I can't plan ahead. I came across a business opportunity that I would love to get involved in. I've had my eye on this business for some time now. I know that by tweaking it a bit, we could double the sales. If I could count on being around awhile longer, I would jump at this opportunity.

This is when I get upset with my situation. I'm in limbo at the moment. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. It's been this way for six years now.

I'm an enterprerner by nature. I spot business opportunities everywhere. It frustrates the shit out of me that I have to pass on these because of my damn cancer.

It has been 6 years this week that I was diagnosed stage 4 with 6 months to live.

With that in mind, my scan results was mostly good news.
My lung mets have increased significantly in size but have not spread much. If fact, the cancer has hardly spread at all since my last scan !!

It has only increased in size in two other places. Overall, this is a very good result. It is just another anomaly with this crazy cancer journey of mine.

My oncologist says she is pleased when her patients prove her wrong. She had predicted that I would expire before the end of summer.

I told her I was planning on ringing in the new year with a big party. I was going to have one this weekend to celebrate being around 6 years later but everyone had plans of their own.
Our family is scattered across Canada so it takes a lot of planning to have a family gathering.

My super powers are back !! I can still leap off tall buildings, but only once. The adventure continues !!!
