Here is a poem that inspired me during my entire lifetime. I have had this framed
In an old mirror that I've had for years. I'd like to share it with you today.

THE MAN IN THE GLASS

When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
and the world makes you king for a day.
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself, and see
what THAT man has to say.

For it isn't your father or mother or wife whose judgement upon
you must pass;
The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life is the one
starring back from the glass.

The fellow to please, never mind all the rest, for he's with you
clear to the end.
You've passed the most dangerous, difficult test if the man in
the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and chisel a plum and think your a
wonderful guy, but the man in the glass says your only a bum if
you can't look him straight in the eye.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life and get
pats on the back as you pass, but your final reward will be heartaches
and tears if you've cheated the man in the glass.

Peanut my love, the clock went off without a hitch today. At least so far today.
I am getting ready to go shopping at my favorite thrift stores

I go there almost every day and buy all the toys I can that are sturdy and that will
last a bit. I spend a lot of money some days and on other days, I sometimes make
out like a bandit.
The thrift store people know what I am up to and give me
deals or hints that there are more in the back coming out soon. Then I come
back a little later. The trunk of the caddy is always FULL of good quality used
toys.
You see, I babysit for free and bring my own toys along. They pick what
they want to play with from my trunk and get to keep whatever they chose
when I leave !! Needless to say, I am very popular with children and parents
alike. Most of these children have been touched by cancer already in their
Young lives. Two are fatherless because of this nightmarish desiese.

Frenchie, I wish I could see the caddy with it's trunk full of toys.

Of course this is not a caddy, and the toys are all new:

I bet the kids go to bed at night and dream about the caddy loaded full of toys.
I think I will tonight also.

Peanut, I I am getting a little concerned about my health.

Something is changing inside me that is causing me alarm. I am loosing
ground too quickly these days. I won't let them touch me anymore so the mystery
only deepens. My body needs to level out a bit and let me get use to these new
challenges before me now.

Mobility has become a bitch. I will have to see if I can come up with a
solution to that. I have a serious idea in mind.

My friend Patch has offered to lend me his Handi Cap scooter that he buzzed around town with after his motercycle accident a couple years ago now. It is sitting in his garage not being used at the moment.
I can hardly get around lately so I will likely give this mode of transportation
a try.
You can bet your bottom dollar that I will be modifying it in some way or
another the minute I get my hands on it. That will be my project for this weekend
If it rains.

Frenchie, I think a scooter is just the ticket for you to get around.

You may not know this, butt here in the US they make a model of scooter that they call The Rascal.

I think that is appropriate for you.

Good Evening Frenchie,

Sorry to hear your body is not obeying you these days, have you asked your doctor about discounts on a trade in and also discounts on New Models that only need to last a few Years.

The Scooter sounds a great idea,it will really help you wiz around town, but whilst upgrading the engine and making the thing go 0-60 in a few seconds, make sure to upgrade the breaks too. I know you have some amazing ideas to modify things but here are a few pictures to give you some more ideas about your scooter

Frenchie, I told my kids about your baby sitting and that when they choose a toy they can play with, they can then keep it when you leave, the Oldest then asked when you are going to come and babysit them too !!! I tried to explain that Canada is a bit far and she replied that you can fly here like we flew to Nigeria :) Kids hey

Stay strong and keep hope alive my friend

Frenchie:
I know that I haven't ben part of this conversation...but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE reading your posts. They are so interesting and fun.

I just wanted to share somethig that my daughter's preschool teacher wrote down on a scrap piece of paper and gave to me when she found out that I had Stage IV Colon Cancer with two small children.

I keep this yellowing folded piece of paper in my wallet and with me wherever I go. I open it and read it aloud when I need to. (The paper is worn now and the folds deep from being opened so many times.)

I wanted to share my special scrap with you too:

Deuteronomy 31 V8
The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you.
He will never leave you nor foresake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Sharon, where did you get that scooter and camper picture from ?? It gave
me a good laugh and another great idea ! We are already building one trailer in my garage and all the tools are out already. Why not build a small trailer like that for my BFF

I could build it to look just like the one in the picture. That's just a week of or two
of labour involved. I think we have enough left over material to give us a good start.

Well, that settles it Peanut, my BFF and I are going to build ourselves a custom
built travel trailer that can hold LOTS of toys ! We will start this weekend if the
weather looks iffy to play outside. There is always something interesting to do
at Frenchie 's house. I have trouble getting him home at times. He just won't
leave !!

Remember I told you to make sure the breaks are working well, actually it looks like Smoking just before going out on the scooter is more dangerous than iffy breaks, just look at this
