Curing cancer with carrots

Postby Steph20021 » Sun Feb 15, 2015 10:45 pm

Has anyone read Ann Cameron's book "Curing Cancer with Carrots"? Has anyone read articles debunking it? Apparently she had lung mets and was stage 4 colon cancer but juicing 5 lbs of carrots cured her.

For example, Ann Cameron claims to have cured herself of stage IV colon cancer with carrot juice. She had stage III colon cancer, underwent surgery, and refused chemotherapy. Later, she was noted to have lesions in her lungs suspicious for metastases. These supposedly disappeared with carrot juice. However, there is no record of any of these lesions having been biopsied. A PET scan showed “spots” that looked like lymph nodes, but again there is no mention of these lesions ever having been biopsied. My conclusion? These almost certainly were not metastatic cancer.

I tried to do this but it got to be a pain buying so many carrots. It takes a lot of carrots and if you go organic it adds to the expense. Besides it's way to much sugar, though I'm sure others will disagree. Carrots and the juice is good for you but in moderation. We are all looking for the miracle cures...but you will probably just end up with an orange glow...lol

This kind of thing shows up from time to time around here and has sparked a couple of quite angry battles. As the article posted by NZJay shows, it's nonsense. Worse, it turns people away from the treatment that actually can, and likely will, extend their lives.

Yes, slash-burn-poison is tough. Yes, it takes a lot out of us. (And, yes, eating more fruits and vegetables and less red meat is a good thing.) But until the researchers develop those experimental immunology techniques that look so deliciously promising, what we are offered is what there is. And it works. I can testify to that.

The wheat-grass and lemon juice (or 50 kg of carrots) promoters are truly worse than the disease.

Best,

OG

Come to think of it, I have never seen a rabbit at the infusion center  what's up doc?

With each new "cure" the already muddy waters get a bit more murky.

Very funny Kenny. I never saw a rabbit at the infusion center either. Come to think of it bugs bunny has been around for ever so I guess he never got cancer either since he eats so many carrots.

Never really thought about carrots as a cancer fighter, but I typically eat baby carrots at lunch 4-5 times a week so maybe I'm doing a little bit of good.

I dont have anything against alternative treatments. But my personal stand would be to do all of them as maintenance AFTER traditional, evidence-based therapy. Yes that means surgery and chemo.

It won't do any good I've tried already! People will go through chemo radiation and surgery and still be convinced it was the diet change that made all the difference. why would anyone pay 175.00 to a guy who can't even pronounce chemo therapy? Lol

Tammy, a few bunnys would be a nice addition to the infusion center :D
