Evaluate materials for patients - pls respond by end of july

Postby nancy » Tue Jul 11, 2006 4:30 pm

Research To Practice, a CME education group, has been producing cancer education programs for oncology professionals for over 20 years. This is a solid organization that's well respected by oncology professionals.

They have now produced an audio educational program targeted directly to colorectal cancer patients and are looking for patients to help evaluate the content. Their goal for this project is to not only assess patients' opinions about the educational product but also to get patient perspectives about cancer education and treatment to oncology professionals and the cancer community as a whole. This project has been reviewed by an ethical board (Institutional Review Board) to ensure that it is ethical and will ultimately produce results that help patients.

They are looking to connect with patients who:

- Were diagnosed with colorectal cancer within the last 5 years

- Had surgery and began adjuvant chemotheraphy within 3 months of surgery

If you meet these eligibility requirements and are interested in listening to and evaluating an audio educational program, send an email to us at info@fightcolorectalcancer.org that includes your name and mailing address (PLEASE don't reply to the bbs) and we'll get a sampler CD out to you. You don't have to provide us with any medical details. The CD contains excerpts of the audio program and the information that you need to register for the study.

Once registered, you will receive a full packet of materials and will be asked to listen to the CDs and then participate in a 30-40 minute phone interview with Research to Practice. You will receive an honorarium of up to $150 directly from Research to Practice to thank you for your completed survey.

Research to Practice would like to finalize the list of participants by the end of July. This is an opportunity to take your experience with colorectal cancer and turn it into information that can help other patients.
