I feel like Jill and some of the others. I am self conscious and feel gross having so many scars and this stupid bag. I even bought some sexy cover ups. It's been a rough year. I hope to get back to normal sometime soon.
Best of luck!

Thanks to my advanced prostate cancer I've been chemically castrated for about 5 years. You know what that does to your libido !!!!! I am very fortunate my wonderful girlfriend of 24 years is ok with it, says would rather have me alive....I am 68 and we did have some rockin times when younger. I do miss it but love my GF. Cancer gets in the way of so much.

I still have my drive and it is very strong. If I ever lose it, which I am praying that I don't, just let me go right then. :)

I have a thought...if it were not you but your spouse how would you feel about them. Would you want them to know you loved them no matter what. Before I got cancer I was "on and off' dating this one guy for a looong time. Because I hda a reversal I asked him how he would feel if I had to have the ostomy again....well...he paused and say "I don't know."....wrong answer buddy. I don't see him anymore.

Not being married, I have never had as much sex in my life as I have had in the last few years. I've discussed it before but I think the confidence born of just not caring about being rejected in the face of cancer does wonders. However - I do not see any sex happening while I am on Folfiri. I'm just too tired.

Honestly I didn't have much drive to begin with, I kept hearing 40 was the "number" for women. I patiently waited and instead of increased sex drive when I turned 40 I got effing rectal cancer. What a crap shoot. I don't know if it was the radiation, chemo or the forced menopause, but even if it didn't hurt like an SOB (thanks menopause = think Kenny's flouresent light bulb example), I have basically no desire. And men just don't "get" the whole cuddle/caring thing, which would would go a long way with me. I'd be willing to take the flourescent light bulb in exchange for a bit of just being "close".
