"Dreams" by Allman Brothers is also one of my all time favorite songs. And another on the dream theme is #9 Dream by John Lennon. That song reminds me of being in nature and feeling "spirit" in that setting, recognizing and taking comfort from there being more than we can see, ethereal. Yep, I know it all sounds groovy but it resonates with me.

This thread is really cheering me up this morning.

That's cool skypup, everyone should see him at least once. Henry Rollins puts on a great show runnin around half nekid. Don't even get. Me started on Glen Danzig.haha.

Kelly, I used to hang out with Johnny Maurer from S.D. Going backstage at all ages punk rock shows came in handy, that's where the beer was

Meatie, you need to get out more

I let a song go out of my heart,
It was the sweetest melody
Just because I love you
You have to love me!

we sang that every day we walked, for at least one year.
It's an Ellington tune, covered by Thelonius Monk, and made silly by me.

listen how uplifting the tune:

Not Journey per se .... just the vibe of the song..... tho' I love the One Name Bands : Journey, Boston, Toto, Rush, Chicago, Kansas ........

Can NOT watch or listen to it without tearing up ... for Starbuck ... just 'cos.... and did so tonight ... again...... just me.

Terry Jacks .... I had a buddy on a pirate radio station (yes we were rebels  ) who went to school with TJ.
Poppy Family was HUGE in Vanc way back. His version defines the song for me .... maybe because I "knew" them at the time ??????

CRguy- the first time I remember really hearing Another one bites the dust was at my oldest brother wedding when he dragged me to the dance floor because he saw I wasn't dancing.

I know it's an oldie - so am I! - but LOVE to crank it up & belt out Eye of the Tiger. Also think it's ironic that it's by SURVIVOR... Pollo65, look in your rear view mirror. I'm right behind you!

Rising up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger
Risin' up to the challenge of our rivals
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds, still we take to the street
For the kill with the will to survive

(REFRAIN: It's the eye of the tiger...)

Risin' up, straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

(REFRAIN: It's the eye of the tiger...)

The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger
The eye of the tiger

Ok, maybe not a "happy" song, but it makes ME happy :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfnAOcBirAs

"Hate My Life"

So sick of the hobos always begging for change
I don't like how I gotta work and
They just sit around and get paid
I hate all of the people who can't drive their cars.
Bitch you better get outta the way
Before I start falling apart

I hate how my wife is always up my ASS
She always wants to buy brand new things
But I don't have the cash.

I hate my job, all of my rich friends
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight
I hate my life!

How come I never get laid nice guys always lose.
How could she have another headache
There's always some kind of excuse
I still hate my job, my boss is a dick
"I don't get paid nearly enough
To put up with all of his SHIT"Image
I hate my job, all of my rich friends
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight
I hate my life!

I hate that I can't tell when a girl's underage,
You know, I tell her she's a nice piece of ASS,
Then her daddy punches me in the face

So if you're pissed like me
Bitches, here's what you gotta do
Put your middle fingers up in the air
Go on and say "F**k you!"

I hate my job, all of my rich friends
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right There's no end in sight
I hate my life!

So much at stake, can't catch a break
I hate my life
No, it's nothing new hear "it sucks to be you"
I f**kin hate my life
