My friend is an editor at the local paper and this is what he wrote about us it is very beautiful and could only b written by a true friend. Thanks so much everyone for your kind words.
A special thanks to my boy up north jdepp who taught me to seek a surgeon when wanting surgery and an oncologist when you want chemo. The drive to your surgeon taught us so much. Illhttp://www.athensnews.com/ohio/artic ... h-joy.html

Stephen,

I hope it is OK but I could not get to the writing off the link. I believe this will work for Ashley's obituary but I don't think it's the link you sent. She's so beautiful.

Stephen, my heart goes out to you & I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so unfair. Though I don't know either of you, I felt an instant connection when I read your sad news. We CC folk really are family & I hope you find at least a little comfort here. It sounds as if your Ashley was one of those very special people who impact lives forever and that she was blessed to have you. Sending love and light across the miles. XXOXO, Delinda

Love you guys and only hope we all find peace on our journeys. I can't complain I've loved as much as this world can give. Reading and rereading your post makes this man smile!!! In true Ashley fashion i bought a plane ticket last night leaving for Jamaica n about twelve hrs from now. The last card she wrote me said this..." May we forever seize the day and realize all the blessings in our lives"

My dear friend I am sorry that we have this common bond but our amazing wives brought us here.
I haven't been able to come to this site until today. It was just too much.
But I needed to read your post.

stephenlamb wrote:Well I use to live on this sight for the first couple yrs of diagnosis. I haven't been on the last nine months because there is no need for me to read about what I was living.so I've been gone and focusing all my energy on my beloved wife.
I would like to thank the colon club for all it has done for me and my wife. I know for a fact without this place her journey wouldn't have been near as long or as manageable as it was. To all the peeps juliej pturley brownbagget and bev and many more some who r gone now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Ashley was my best friend my lover my constant companion and now she gone. When Ashley was diagnosed she thumbed her nose stuck out her tongue and went skydiving. She never would let this disease every stop her from seeing the beauty n each day. Even in death she taught me how to live. To pull my pants up stop being a pussy and live like she did( her words)!!!!! None of us know our time and we can sit around thinking about it or start living!!! I'm so thankful to have a wife who left me with the tools to live on as she would have wanted.(I went skydiving 3days after she passed). Things I have decided I will not let her down! I will not let this disease steal my joy of life!
I will leave with the quote that best sums up her life that was read at her funeral.
far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure....
than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because the live in the grey twilight that knows not victory or defeat. T.d. roosevelt.
this is how I will live my life to honor you my love. You skydiving, whitewater paddled, caver little adventurer I miss you! you will always b able to look down on this earth and I'll b doing something to make u smile. Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you... Sweet dreams to leave all troubles behind you. Thanks so much colon club
