Update on my cells from my fellow

Good afternoon Deb and Dr. Rhee,

Just wanted to inform you that we got good strong reactivity to certain mutation specific antigens against your tumor on our preliminary assay (this is what we want). We are retesting is as our standard protocol and will confirm with you if the retest remains this way. The retesting takes a couple of weeks. If the retesting is positive again we will discuss treatment schedule on our protocol. So essentially the news is good but we will have to wait and see that this is confirmed. Treatment timing will be contingent on response to the recent chemo regimen and availability of the cellular lab. Ballpark will likely March-April but please don’t quote me on this.

Very excited about this. Chemo is getting me down. I have a ct scan Friday so hopefully I will know if the vectabix and irinotecan are working. The rash has been terrible, I'm told that's a good sign. The problem is I feel so much worse than when they found the new Mets.

Had a ct scan today. It showed no changes in lung tumors. No new tumors. I have had 6 rounds of irritican and vectabix. Decided to stop chemo until I go to NIH. My magnesium and potassium is low and will be getting iv for that. Hopefully I will regain some energy before I go to NIH. Hope I'm making the right choice.

Deb, I think you'll feel better the further you get from chemo. Great news on your scan.

As for me, I'm scheduled to start the TIL chemo on 2/23 & cell infusion on 3/2.

Joan Lunden's interview w/Dr. Rosenberg and me for the Today Show broadcast will air on Monday, Feb. 6 on NBC during the 8AM (Eastern) hour.

In anticipation of this, NCI/NIH launched a new website this week which provides preliminary information about Adoptive Cell Therapy (the TIL trial). You can find that here. I've added the link to my signature also.
