Forgive me for I have sinned..........

Postby lori314 » Sat Jan 03, 2015 3:20 pm

I ate crap the last 2 days. No discipline at all. I also have not followed the thickening up and slowing down regime either! So now I'm clustering. The BM's are mushy, not enough to push out, just enough to be annoying. I have to turn this around. Its Saturday! I have errands to get done and I can't leave the house. I'm eating oatmeal right now. What else to do to get back on track fast? I promised myself I won't do this again even if my Buckeyes beat Oregon!

I know what I would do

Lori, I'm only about 8 weeks out and doing much better. butt even a good day means going to the toilet ten times. So this morning I just did the enema and I'm done until tomorrow.

I figured the enema maybe once a week won't hurt my chances of some kind of normal butt provides a break here and there.

Oregon seems pretty hard to beat

My lips are sealed, I have a friend in Oregon. OK, twist my arm, immodium might get things to thicken up. it really helped me with clustering.

So you all have a diareah problem at times? I haven't had that the opposite if anything  the Imodium still helps to slow down clustering?

In my case, I can attribute many a nights sleep, and respite from clustering to immodium. I never thought of it , and it wasn't mentioned around here, but there was mention of it on the MDAnderson site.

I'm three weeks out from reversal, and I have never been much for dietary self discipline. I guess have a lot to learn. I don't even know what clustering is...
Stage IV rectal
10/12 Cancerous polyp removed age 51
6/14 uLAR and resected liver met
12/14 finished FOLFOX / Avastin
1/15 ilio reversed = LARS!!!
1/20 onc said “cured!” - no further monitoring unnecessary
5/21 chest pain revealed new lung mets… radiation
10/21 maintenance avastin/xeloda
9/22 stivarga 2 weeks, d/c'd due to foot pain
10/22 vectabix + irinotecan

Shade,
I really can't believe no one has come to explain the term clustering. Many people know what diarrhea is, where you evacuate and then you are back to evacuate and so on. Clustering, is about the same thing, only with a tiny rectum, you only get milk duds for hours. Either way, you can not get far from a lavatory. I would recommend you check out the MDAnderson, website concerning reversal recommendations, or search this website for the exact address.

I was plugged up since surgery. Had to use Milk of magnesia until starting chemo. Oxyliplatin clogged me up worse........then......ta daaaaaaaa! I started the xeloda with the ox, and voila! Near normal bowel movements!!! One plugs you, the other loosens you up!
