I have had my share of night sweats lately. It was never an issue that I can remember after surgery in the past but 3 out of the past 4 nights I have woken up soaking wet while not even using the covers, and we keep our house cool (64 degrees).
I am still having bad bouts of pain from the ablation so I have been loading up on the pain meds which I am sure has something to do with it.

I think it will get better for me when I don't have to take you many damn oxycodone to sleep due to nerve pain.

Hi,

I experienced bad night sweats for three to four cycles of Folfiri with Aflibercept back three to four months ago. My Onc seemed to think it was just a bad side effect.......I could go hot to cold in a matter of minutes, but more noticeable at night.
He reduced the dose of irintocean that I was getting and it just seemed to fade away.

Hope this helps.

My theory is withdrawal. Perhaps from stopping the pain meds or during the night going longer between doses. My husband was on high dose of fentanyl patch and dilaudid after his surgery last year. We changed the patch every other day. On the second day he has extreme sweats all day...soaking through clothes three and four times a day. We were both happy when he got weaned off of the patch. If you are wearing Cotton at night, try some athletic wear to keep the moisture away.

Mine are getting better now that I quit paracetamol and ibuprofene and I'm on oxicodone alone for pain... What about you, Kenny?

Olivia I'm still getting them but not every night. I don't remember how long they lasted after my other surgeries. I should have wrote it down. Glad yours are getting better they're so annoying.

I'm calling it sympathy night sweats for all us women that got forced into menopause from the radiation. Effing night sweats suck. Butt...day sweats are embarassing. Sitting in my CEO's office with sweat dripping down my face...embarassing...lol.

Hope they go away soon.

I get this after every surgery :(

My suggestion is a special cookie, no PJs and a king size bed so you can scoot to a new spot after you sweat thru your first spot. Haha, can you tell I'm lazy!!
