Well, as a practical matter, surgery is your only hope for a cure. The affected area needs to be removed or the overwhelming odds are you'll get a recurrence.

I hear you on the fear. I never had a stitch until I went in for my resection, and I was worried. But I recovered well and was back on my bike (my standard measure, as you can see) in six weeks.

That was more than 10,000 miles ago.

So, you really need to do it, IMO. Think positive and remember that it goes pretty well for most people, especially if you're healthy otherwise.

Some Christmas present, though!

Good luck & let us know how you're doing.

Surgery is absolutely necessary. Let's hope it's the last act.

If you can, choose a flavor that you don't like, as you won't like the flavor you choose anymore after you're done.

I was in the complete shock stage a few years ago. Reading posts on here of other survivors really helped me. Right now I'm as active as I was before my treatment, if not more so. I've got physical/emotional scars but I'm still here. Good luck in your surgery.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?

Ignoring "reality" can be a useful tool, I agree. Glad we're both still here, Horizon.

I find most things are never as bad as I expect. It's not easy but doable. Walk as much as possible. Don't lift more than they tell you. Glad it went well. Merry Christmas.
