Update

Postby vancouver eve » Fri Dec 12, 2014 5:40 pm

Today I went to the Onc. to receive the results of my scan. Everything looked good. The small nodual I had on my lung shrunk to 3mm from the 5mm it was last time. It is believed the sterotactic radiation is still working. The Onc. (your Onc. CRguy) is going to do another CEA test in two months then we will make a plan for the next step. The Onc. thinks I am doing very good since it will be 8 years in May. My Cea is 2.4 at this time.
Merry Christmas to all in the Club. I decided instead of sending xmas cards this year, I will donate the money to the food bank.

Glad he is taking care of you Eve ... 'cos I am coming back to see him in June .. and he KNOWS what I am like if he doesn't take care of me and my friends !!!

GREAT news on the scan and CEA, and the continued results from stereotactic ... the gift that keeps on giving

Merry Christmas and all the best to you Eve.
Your " food instead of cards " idea is a wonderful option which I think I will also follow this year.
I also send a few coins the BCCA Foundation 's way every year. You and I are living proof of their success and commitment to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer ... especially BC and CRC.

Cheers and Harmony my friend

CRguy, your Onc. is going away on Sab. for six months, starting in May. You might get my Onc. or some other one.
I like the Cancer Foundation as well and contribute. It is the place to make things happen. They are raising funds for the first " Vero" machine in Canada. It is a radiation machine that can treat people in places that were not able to be treated before. It will be able to radiate in places that no other radiation machine has the ability to do at this time in Canada. It should be here in the next year and a half.

Eve, after a pretty crappy day yesterday (literally and figuratively) I open this post and my heart is bursting with joy. So happy there is positive progress, best news I've heard in seven years! Thank you, this is a great Christmas gift for all of us.
As for the donations, I'm there with you sistah. Spread it out...now if I could only get my "whole" family on board with that message.
Cheers!

WELL he did not clear that with ME ! .....or maybe he's trying to avoid me  when I am there in July.
We've been there so long probably all of his residents are now board certified themselves, anyway !

The new machine sounds great, I am going to check out the details.

Cheers

Thanks for all the kind wishes. We all strive to reach NED. It has been along road, but I am still here.
Susan, I am glad that you are still healthy. It was wonderful to here from you. I often wonder what happened to long term NED members. Maybe Miss J.V. will pipe in.
