Echo sentiments of Laurgb. First thought in my mind. Let's all hope, even pray if you choose, that this is the "magic bullet."

Thank you Belle.

Thanks for the update, Belle. I've been thinking about you and I'm so glad they have a plan.

Not much to report here with Chris...he's feeling mostly pretty good. He did have a crazy hot flash, which was interesting to watch, but other than that it's going well for him.

If you remember, I'd be interested in what that test is they watch for the possibility of pancreatitis. I wasn't aware of the connection to immunotherapy so it's good to be on the lookout for symptoms of that as well as everything else we are watching.

Swinging lots of chickens for you!

Hi Belle,

Sounds like such a great and safe plan. i'm so glad they checked everything even though I know it was probably a bit of an anxiety provoking day. I hope the next round will be more of a breeze for you. I had emend every round and only had steroids once--refused them after the first time because they made my blood glucose level insane (up to 600). I know you'll keep us posted. Thank you for that, and that you forever for giving this trial a try, for yourself and for all of us.

((((Belle))))

Julia,

pancreatic enzymes are amylase and lipase, and they would check those to see if pancreatitis looks like a possibility, as a damaged pancreas would secrete more of these enzymes.

Jgall & GrouseMan - thank you for the private messages! I want to respond to both of them but this website isn't allowing me to write PM replies to you (it says "yet"?). If you see this, please PM me your emails or could a friend of theirs PM them to let them know that I am trying to respond? Also any advice on how to get my PM send ability activated would be really appreciated! Thanks! Tom

Wow Belle...No wonder you are scared, especially after round one. I'm glad that you will be staying in hospital after the next round. That way they can monitor you, and hopefully reduce those awful side effects. It sounds like they are taking good care of you. Now, this round has to be better with this plan in place :) Hang in there Belle. You are one brave cookie and we are all behind you. Sending you strength and warmest wishes across the miles and may the next round be better for you. Swinging chickens and may this chemo be the magic one for you.

Hugs,

There needs to be more interaction on the forum as far as posts before private messaging is enabled. I do not know what that number is, but it isn't that many. Just make a few more posts.

I think for many of us, one of our greatest hopes is that when we leave this earth we are able to go knowing we did SOMETHING that made a difference, that we contributed in a way that made something better for mankind.

You Belle, and all the others that so bravely agree to these trials are doing just that. You are making a difference, and your actions will go on to help so many others, to change the way we think, we treat, to change the way we survive this awful disease.

I love to hear they are going to take so many precautions to keep you safe and comfortable...wishing you a much better experience.

As so many others have said Belle...thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU.
