Starting clinical trial tomorrow

Postby jgall » Wed Oct 22, 2014 6:37 pm

We have been around here for what seems like a long time, so many of you don't know us well. But for those of you still around and interested, Chris is, at long last, starting a clinical trial tomorrow. Here's the link if you're so inclined.

http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02110082

I think tomorrow will be somewhat anti-climatic because the first day is just an infusion of Erbitux which he's been on for nearly 4 years. Friday he will get the study drug.

I will report back with our experiences, but in the meantime we appreciate all your well wishes and swinging chickens. :D

Hi Vicki...I'm a bit confused, it's pretty much all there in my signature line, but sounds like you don't see it? With the limitation of number of characters I have abbreviated more and more over the years. can others see it????

The expanded story of my signature line (that maybe only I can see?) is he was diagnosed with about 20 mets in liver and several positive lymph nodes. He had two txs of FOLFOX but suffered a rare side effect of sudden cardiac arrest about 3 days after the second treatment. So after he recovered from that he's been on Itinotecan and Erbitux off and on since then. He had liver and colon resection in August 2011. CEA was at 100 when diagnosed, has hovered around normal (3-7) for most of the last four years (except at the end of a chemo break) until this year. It's made a slow but steady rise since January from 8 to now in the high 40's. He's got a few small lung mets also now.

Thank you everyone for your posi vibes.

DUH!

I"M SORRY Julia..... I looked right past your signature Julia.... my bad!
Once you read a post & start to reply- if you scroll down to look again- the sig line is not there

I also am not surprised they are combining two drugs- which I see a lot of in my clinical trial searches
A lot of the top minds are thinking combination therapies will work better than single drug therapies

I hope you both kick some Cancer Butt & I look forward to reading your story!
Back to swinging Chickens for you & Chris!
