It's always something with this damned disease. Hopefully the stent will alleviate the issue. Is there any reason they prefer that procedure to removing the offending lymph node?

Hi Ray,

I am so sorry to hear that you have been continuously bombarded by side issues, cannot pinpoint them to anything and it makes you wonder if the clinical trial is a possible reason
It is one of the side issues with working in a clinical trial- with unknown drug or a combination that has not been used before & the results will not be known for years after we are done using them
I know I researched my butt off trying to find what little I could for Tivantinib before my hubby started his trial, and find myself still looking, while he is on it

I did find this ASCO website 2 days ago- you can plug in any drug & get quite a bit of info
Maybe you can find an answer here:

Search returned 29 results for “romidepsin”
Abstract (19), Presentation (9), Edbook (1) dates cover info 2009-2014 by year & type
http://meetinglibrary.asco.org/search/site/romidepsin

Search returned 117 results for “azacitidine”
Abstract (74), Presentation (32), Edbook (11) dates cover info 2009-2014 by year & type
http://meetinglibrary.asco.org/search/site/azacitidine

As for medical facilities going to new computer systems, I feel your pain there too- I went through new systems with UCSD & Scripps and now USC last month.
However- the GOOD NEWS here is that once they get the systems into play, YOU as the patient or Caregiver can typically access YOUR file & get instant readings of things like CBC's/ tests etc & print or save them. I still have to ask for some to be printed off for me.... but it has saved me a lot of time compiling stuff for different DR's in different systems (just made hubby's DR Number EIGHT appointment today (OH JOY). Any Dr's within the same computer system can access each others reports, scans, tests pretty immediately- also saves you the running around/ coordination. I PRAY for the day they have some sort of universal computer system- I personally am going to host a Parade the size of Macy's, LOL!

Hang in there kiddo.... we are swinging Chickens & Rooting for Y O U

Ray,
Hard getting unexpected news in the car. It is good they found the problem and have a solution to the blocked duct. My thoughts are with you as you go up and down. It is so very hard. I hope you get out again this weekend with your family. Thinking of you.

You've got to be strong again, while all that we all want is just a little rest...
The stent will do the job, then for the lymph node what do you think to do? SBRT maybe?

This procedure is what was recommended. I didn't have time to formulate questions last night but will discuss further on addressing the lymph node. The procedure to place the stent/drain is via interventional radiology and my impression is that it's not a huge ordeal (at this time).

Sorry to hear Ray!! Hope this stent resolves the issue. .. One question to maybe ask is what type of stent... I have friend who had a stent placed...apparently it makes a difference if you have a "plastic " version vs "iron" version...iron is better if you are getting chemo... I know u mentioned no more chemo but maybe ask onc what type of stent is a good match based on future treatment... Wishing you a break from all that hugs

Ray,

Hope your stent replacement goes smoothly.

I terms of lymph nodes, it is only a few enlarged ones, the surgeons can take them out. One of my lymph nodes at the aorta larval area lit up on CT and PET scans, and my Sloan surgeon took it out. It turned out not cancerous. But hopefully your surgeon will be able to take it out at some point.

Good luck with the procedure and your upcoming treatment. I am praying for you!
