On our 22nd wedding anniversary I was diagnosis with rectal cancer. Every year since has been a countdown away from that day in 2007.
Today, for the first time in 7 years, cancer barely crossed my mind; we didn't remind each other about it, and we just talked about the wonderful ride we've been on since we said "I do." And by ride, there are absolute hills and valleys as maybe all marriages have.
I am so happy this has turned back into a wedding anniversary, never dreamed cancer would take a really far back seat on the bus.
