Fantastic thread idea.

I am grateful for my amazingly loving and supportive girlfriend. I was first admitted to ED on our second date, and was diagnosed one month later. Not once did she even consider my suggestions that it may be best for her to "opt out with no hard feelings". Over the past year, at the age of just 23, Kat has in turn been a nurse, counselor, cook, babysitter, best friend and lover. And not once has she broken down or shared a negative thought. 100% upbeat and positive, regardless of how I am feeling. I simply couldn't ask or hope for anything more... and thus, I am grateful.

I've been away a little while, but what a great thread! I'm so, so grateful for my colostomy. It has truly given me my life back. In the last week I've been out for dinner (twice!), something I hadn't been able to do since my reversal in January.

I am grateful for stories on the board like smudgesicle's that talk about finding a solution for a bad side effect, or issue. When I read things like being able to get out of the house and doing something like having dinner at a restaurant...something sooooooo many people take for granted....it makes me grateful that these things do have HAPPY endings :D It also reminds me not to give up,,,and to be grateful for every victory, no matter how small.

I’m grateful for my dad’s oncologist who called us after 6pm on a Friday to let us know that Dad’s CEA is back down to 3.6. It was 12.1 before ablation. I thank him for sharing the good news so that we can enjoy the weekend.

Having a hard time today, I had to put my dog down last night. I am grateful though for the fours years I had with her. She was a rescue, used and abused for breeding for her first 5 years. She had many health issues that we worked through, but ironically, could not beat this last round of cancer. I AM grateful she was in my life...she gave me unconditional love. Thank you Azure xoxox

Tammylayne, I'm so sorry for the loss of your furbaby. I'm so glad you rescued her, and that you were able to give each other a wonderful four years together. Sending you big hugs, and thinking about you gong through this really painful loss.

Tammylayne, I am so grateful for pets, and at the same time sad for you for the loss of your dog. One of my dogs was a former puppy mill dog and she also has health problems but for now is hanging on. We've had her for 6 years. I'm sure you know how grateful your dog was for the last four years of her life. Romp in peace, Azure.
