MRI scan of Liver with good news

Postby Wade0025 » Mon Sep 22, 2014 4:11 pm

Hey Everyone,

I haven't posted in a while as I have been getting ready to start chemo next week, riding my bike and being at work (swinging spanners not chickens), feeling healthy I almost felt normal :).
I had a baseline MRI scan done on friday and got the results back yesterday with some good news. When I got DX they said that I had a possible 7 x spots on my liver, 4 on the left and 3 on the right. As of yesterday I have 3 and from the original CT scan done in august. The three spots have decreased as well from. 17mm to 8mm, 21mm to 11mm, 19mm to 6mm and from the report it said, "This shows signifiant improvement from previous study."
I was on such a high yesterday because I couldn't believe it..

I just wanted to get some positive thoughts out there this morning.

Thanks,

Wade

Hi Wade,

What great news - I'm very happy for you. Did the oncologist explain what might have caused the tumor shrinkage and disappearance? You haven't even started chemo yet! Perhaps I need to get my dad on a bike and swinging spanners or whatever else you're doing.

Best wishes,
Sue

Hey Sue,

thanks its weird, that being said I have changed my diet i.e; no red meat, gluten free, minimal dairy, lots of fruit, veg, fish, chicken, nuts as well as exercise. The most important thing is that I'm in a positive head space. I feel amazing and rode 45km (sorry Aussie here) on sunday and also being back with my mates at work has been fantastic and serving my country (Air Force) helps a lot and makes me proud.

My Onc hasn't said much it came from the reports and my surgeon but he (my onc) will debrief me in full next week but it has thrown a spanner into the works. I'm also suborn and I'm not going to let this beat me.

Thanks,
Wade

hey holly,
I don't know but they said its only on the right lobe. I'll have to see what the onc wants to do and see how my bloods are like. I feel on top of the world at the moment and its about time that my family and I had some good news.
I'm having my port put in tomorrow and chemo next week I'll keep you posted.
how did your surgery go..? I hope that you are recovering well and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
thanks
Wade

Hey everyone had my appointment with the onc, he is happy with treatment, he is happy with the MRI and also the CT scan. He seems to think the difference in size is that an MRI is more detailed than a ct but there has been some naturally reduction which it can happen in patients so Ii was happy, also he as told me to be pushy with my surgeon for a liver resect then I see him in dec. as I'm young fit and healthy to go through it and to see that happens with the chemo.
