Might be over thinking this

Postby JDinNC » Sun Sep 07, 2014 9:41 am

About two weeks ago, I had a mammogram follow up on right breast...besides the original test a week earlier. They ended up taking 4 more pictures and a ultra sound. Last week, I started to feel fatigue, body numbness, like I was in a "buzzing" shell, constipated like during chemo plus during this past week, I've had an on and off ache under my right side ribs which is where I had my lung resection. I will say we've had thunderstorms just about every day so I was thinking it could be causing my ache.
I've been feeling really great since finishing chemo in Feb....like my old self. But this past week all I wanted to do is lay around.
I know I might be over thinking this....but could all those extra x-rays cause any of this symptoms? I haven't changed any...same vitamins and meds...nothing!
I'll be having my port flushed tomorrow...where they will also be doing my blood work...want to see if there's any changes.

Hi JD,

I'm sorry you're feeling fatigued and can see how it's worrying you. The x-rays for the mammogram would not be causing your fatigue, but all the stress you went through with that grueling testing could be! Go easy on yourself and just take some wonderful naps in the rain. You more than deserve it! Good luck with your visit!.

I know when I had my most recent mammogram that I was squeezed like hell and it hurt for a week after. So that could be the cause of aches. Stress from waiting can cause fatigue too. Hang in there. Good luck with the blood work.

Could be a virus as well. Keep a check on your temperature to be sure you aren't feverish. For some reason my temperature goes up at night. When it does I ache in my joints.
Male Age 53. Dx CC with numerous liver mets 6/23/12. Colon res 6/24/12. Started folfox 7/24/12. Added avastin 8/27/12. CT 12/27/12 still showing shrink. Took 17 rounds of FOLFOX. Then 5-FU + Avastin. Switched to Irinotecan for 1 yr. CEA rose to >400. Switched to Vectibix 2/18/15. CEA decreasing. Scans show some growth in liver mets. Lung Mets stable to shrinking.

Post chemo nutrition may be problematic, with subtle gut and organ damage doing a slow number on people. Several people in my family had deficits after "standard" treatments that could be measured and fixed. Extended blood chemistry and looking for optimum and better minimums might be clues.
watchful, active researcher and caregiver for stage IVb/c CC. surgeries 4/10 sigmoid etc & 5/11 para-aortic LN cluster; 8 yrs immuno-Chemo for mCRC; now no chemo
most of 2010 Life Extension recommendations and possibilities + more, some (much) higher, peaking ~2011-12, taper chemo to almost nothing mid 2018, IV C-->2021. Now supplements
