I haven't been on this board in a while and already I am crying.

I didn't know Alan that well, but the love and support of board members is so overwhelming.

My recovery complaints are washed away and my problems seem very small in light of this terrible outcome.

I am so very grateful for life and whatever time I have left. I only wish Alan could have had more.

Today was Alan's funeral. He has a small family (one sister - that's it), but the crowd was still impressive. Many of his co-workers, past and present, made it to the service (on very short notice) and it was quite moving. As his friend of nearly 30 yrs I spoke and I'm glad I did and felt that Alan would be proud. While it has been very difficult these past days, it is reassuring knowing that he is in a better place and his pain and battle is over.

I too add my thoughts and prayers to you and to Alan"s sister. I am so sorry for your loss, from his post here, he fought his cancer hard and with bravery. May he rest in peace now.

Thank you for letting us know about Alan. We sure will miss his adventurous spirit here. He seemed ready to walk through the fires of Hell if that would have given him a cure. I'll be saying prayers for you. It's so hard to lose a lifelong buddy.

God bless ~
