That's fantastic, BB! If bribery with fresh veggies works, imagine how you'd get treated if you shared your pickles. This really is wonderful news.

God bless ~

Damn good news and I have been waiting on the update as you had been noticeably absent recently. I guess you were just too busy in your garden.
Love the good news, and love that you are still gardening :D

The garden is growing great, but I'm at war with the critters. This year it's not the deer--it's groundhogs or rabbits or some combination of the two. Don't know how they're getting through my fence, but that's their job--it's what they do. I bought a trail cam to try to see who has been decimating my broccoli (total loss) and Brussels sprouts (total loss) and now, my beloved carrots (sob). I'm about ready to buy a couple of Have a Heart traps, but I'm hoping the camera can help me determine what kind of critter I'm dealing with. One way to deal with a critter in a Have-a-Heart captive is to attach a rope to the cage and toss it in the pond. Instead, I work 60 miles from here up in the mountains, so I'll probably just relocate anything I catch to a new home.

Last summer we had a fox living in our yard and no problem with varmints. This year, no fox. Lots of varmints.

Plus, I'm really busy at my job and various moonlighting projects. Between all that, cutting firewood and spending more time on the tree farm in Wisconsin and monthly (on average) trips to NYC, it's been a very busy summer.

That, my friends, is why I'm stable. No time for any cancer nonsense.

Noooooooooooooooooo not the carrots! :-(

Glad to hear that your news is good. Sorry about the varmints. Someone has been munching my Chard and my Kale, I am pretty sure it's bunnies, and there's a chipmunk that's gotten fond of my cherry tomatoes.

Smart move bringing farm-fresh veggies to Manhattan! Bet you got brownie points with Sandy!

I'm very happy to hear your scan results! :D And I'm also happy to hear about your busy life. I know for me the best way to prevent my mind from getting bogged down in the 'what ifs' is to keep my brain focused and productive. You do what you can do medically, and then get on with your life. It's as simple as that.

Broccoli, brussels sprouts, and carrots... sounds like rabbits. Does your fence extend at least 8 inches underground to prevent them from digging under it? Have you tried motion-detector automatic sprinklers? What about sprinkling a little blood meal around the plants? (Rabbits don't like the smell.) My rancher neighbor puts Irish Spring soap shavings in little drawstring bags around his garden to keep rabbits away.

I'm so very pleased for you Eric. It's great news and great news is sorely needed these days. I'm praying for a fox to find it's way into your yard to keep the critters at bay, and allow you to keep eating and sharing your fabulous veggies. Pattie

Plenty of bunnies in the yard, but I've inspected the fence perimeter many times and can't find any security breaches. I think it's gotta be something that can climb. The electric fence wasn't working (until I fixed it last night) because the unruly tomato plants were making contact and shorting it out. The failure of the trail cam to pick up any activity last night might mean I fixed the problem. But, don't count on it. Got my order in for the have-a-heart traps.

Sandy was pretty happy. I prepared two bags--a huge shopping bag for the staff and a smaller one for Kemeny. Sandy only saw the big one and thought that it was just for the doc. "I hope she shares it with us," she said. I said, "well she better, because it's your stuff. She has her own." So I suspect Sandy got her share. One of the girls in the office said, "Do you have a farm or something?" (city girl). No, just a modest backyard garden.

My philosophy on all this medical stuff is: I let the doctors worry about the disease, while I focus on staying as healthy as I can. So far, it seems to be working pretty well.
