WHY did you pick your NAME here???

Postby WifeOfMike » Thu Jul 31, 2014 2:29 am

It is VERY apparent we are in need of something stupid & fun to ease the pain HERE with a little laughter
after all it IS THE" BEST MEDICINE"

OK..... so I STUPIDLY signed up here in hubby's full real name because:

1) I stupidly thought HE was going to come here, lurk, learn & maybe have some comrades to help him get thru this
2) BUTT.... NO..... what was I thinking??? the man never talks to anyone BUTT ME
3) so on I trotted, lurked from Oct 2012 till May 2014, got brave enough to put my big toe in the water :)
4) and everyone assumed I was Michael......
5)so I started signing everything...... Wife of Mike, Vicki.......... butt that is a lot of words & well I already use a LOT of words
6) then the PRIVACY issue popped up & I panicked thinking 'WHAT DID I SAY" that could come back & hit the innocent (HUBBY)
7) so I asked and changed my sign in to..........DRUMROLL......... WifeOfMike so, well YOU would KNOW it was ME :P
8 ) although someone did suggest something like "BaddAssWife"

SO...............Spill the Beans...... ..... what IS the story behind your BadAss names? :?: :?:
at least I did not get stuck with CRGirl!!!! hehehehehehe

When it comes to thinking up a name for a place like this I'm not very creative as evidenced by my screen name - NWgirl. I just love the northwest (grew up in Phoenix; moved to the NW 9 years ago); so that's about it.

And for what it's worth, I find that with married couples, it tends to be one or the other - the patient or the caregiver; but rarely both - that end up coming here. Not sure why. Some couples (and I've met a number of them); seem to give me the impression that for the one who comes here, it's kind of "their thing". I don't think my husband has ever visited the board.

I am adopted and it is my birthname (first and middle) - Tammy Layne. I have used it for most things internet for the past 15 years where I don't want to use my "real" name, but still identify with who I am. My birthname is very important to me, so for me it is very fitting to use it here. Not a fancy story  but it's mine! As a few people on the board know...my real name is Karen...but I answer to Tammylayne as well.

Same screen name I have used for Outdoor forums. But I do have a silly story for mine:

Playing high school football we did a drill where you laid on your stomach and arched your back, rocking back and forth. I started barking like a seal, my offensive line coach quipped "listen its Wally the Walrus". Wally stuck and its my nickname in my home town. For some reason lost to time, in physics we had to pick alternative names and I selected Walt (the formal of Wally), my lab partner added Colorado as a play on IndianaJones.... So Coloradowalt. When I joined my first forum and it asked for a screen name it just popped into my head to use Coloradowalt. BTW, I am from Florida :-)

I used Nobuttgirl here because it is my instagram name. Why nobuttgirl? The 'nobutt' part has two reasons 1. I've always been really skinny and have never had a butt. In college a few boys made fun of me and called me 'no-butt' and 2. I have a permanent ileostomy so...no-butt. Girl is of course because I'm a girl. :P

Ok, here goes. No laughing...When hubby & I were in High School, we were in the same English Class. We had to write a play. We wrote about a family, he as the dad and me as the mom. No laughing!.....we had to think of a last name, so we put the letters of last names together and mixed them up a bit. So, playfully we did the same with our first names together. I guess we could say that we are the original Brangelina. However, we did this as silly 17 year olds in 1985. Now stop laughing!

Like others, I'm not creative when it comes to user names. I used my actual name because 1) I've always loved my unusual name, and 2) I noticed many of you revealed your own name anyway. But just the other day I read how stupid it is to use your own nane, even if you are careful with other private information. Now I'd like to change my username here, but worry that my new formed friendships (joined less than a month ago) will not know it's me under a new name. Announcing it seems silly. Should I leave as is, or change & hope my new CC friends catch on?
