FOLFIRINOX

Postby JAZZToo » Mon Jul 28, 2014 9:31 pm

I will post info about my FOLFIRINOX here (the good and the bad), as I know that some of the stage IV Colon Cancer members here are or will be also on it. Had first FOLFIRINOX chemo today. After fortifying myself with a thorough reading about everything and anything that could go wrong with this triple threat chemo, I was greatly relieved that my initiation into it went well with the only side effect being some sweating. No cold sensitivity yet. Thursday getting port put in and next chemo will include the fanny pack. The protocol here (MSKCC) is a proactive shot of Neulasta after completion of each chemo treatment to keep WBC count up.

Hi Leslie,

Thinking of you and wishing you all the best with this KICK ASS chemo. How many rounds are planned? This isn't planned as '"chemo for life" is it? Hang in there, you tough warrior, and please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Love,

Hi Leslie,

My wife just had her 6th round of this protocol. She is doing great. There was some issues so far, like nausea and sensibility on fingers and throat for 2-3 days, and she lost her hair after 3rd round.
The secret for her is eating healthy to be stronger than the chemo. Good luck to you my friend.

Leslie, thanks for the update. I'm wishing you all the best and hopefully, no big side effects.

Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.
