Julie, do you live on the east or west coast?

kiwi, c'mon over and well hang off some hooks and fire in a few. It's exciting to hang off a granite edge that's about an eighth inch thick ( insert Howard dean "yeah" here)

Don't you know puke is as bad as bird shit, for the wax on your vehicle. A big ole hocker, ain't much better. I slow down and open the door, and the people behind me can just slow down too

BEWARE: This is a true story. When I owned my own printing company, my secretary and I would get together and talk after work, at my favorite bar. One day she met me there, and asked why there was so much advertising for Miller Lite. Before the bartender could even answer, she said" OH! that's right, my boss switched to Budweiser"

Personally, I live in arizona and want to know who came up with the term "haboob" and why do they not just simply call it a monsoon, like we have for decades....

Its hard to explain to someone "Yeah thats so hilarious.... Oh hold that thought, there is a hoboob coming in, and Im stuck in the haboob"

especially if they arent from arizona

Kenny

Dawn of the planet of the apes huh? Just got released in Sydney today and am looking at watching it this weekend so pretty timely. Climbing, like to do it but I'm married, run my own business, cook every meal from scratch which leads to a lot of shopping and have a serious addiction to running at the moment. All of which leaves me with no spare time. Mrs Kiwi, who is fairly active herself, has just once or twice pointed out cross training and doing some tennis, squash or yoga may see us with more "together time" so I can't see rock climbing on our mutual agenda at the moment.

However I can sure appreciate the addiction and rush that it must bring. Maybe you and Juliej could do a climb together and post a link or two on this site.

I have entered into a 1/2 marathon (21 km) with 2 friends at the end of November but I am doing 3 runs of 15 km during the week and am doing 20 km runs in the weekend so am starting to think that I should be doing the full marathon. I got up to do my run this morning and it was 4 degrees C (39 F) at 5 am this morning so I must be pretty dedicated.

Honestly, I run as it is the only time I feel that I have some freedom from the nasty cancer stuff. The only time I have some degree of control over my body. Do you feel like that when you climb? I have less than 3 months until my next scan and the tick tocking of that clock is getting louder

Kiwi, it sounds like you're pretty busy that's good. Yeah when I go climbing I feel normal again for a while some shoulder problems have kept me grounded for a while but I think they're clearing up. I'm hoping to get back to my old stomping grounds near Lake Tahoe for climbing with friends. Maybe Julie can come up I don't know though we don't even slow down when we need to hurl

Kenny,
Can't relate to the bosch gun driving in a bolt on a rock face, but as a hobby construction DIY guy, I do like the sound of my DeWalt impact driver driving home a 3" lag bolt through a big slab o treated lumber while building my deck! Bap, bap, bap, bap, bap!! Sometimes i drive it in too far just because of the manly sound it makes echoing through the neighborhood!

Nail guns with a kick ass air compressor sound pretty cool too 8)

I get it Rob, I don't even want to get started on the sound of my 660 Stihl echoing through the woods at 7:00am

Then there's the thud of the 3' diameter lodge pole hitting the ground!
