I thought about these words she said all day yesterday. They really resonated with me.

"As many of you know, for the past 10-15 years I started to travel and explore the world. It really opened my mind to new experiences and I'm so glad I did it while I was still healthy."
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 13 years NED). Is this real life?

Bev, thank you so much for the pictures and post---I love to picture Ashlee (to me) flying over to Catalina Island. I am unfortunately sitting here blubbering at work so hope nobody comes in and sees me it will ruin my "boss" image. Ashlee will not be forgotten, especially by us old timers.

It's so beautiful to look at Ashlee's candles on the gratefullness.org site. Many of them will soon be out. Gone but never forgotten  . Ashlee once asked me if I thought anyone on CC would comment upon her death, and she hoped that someone would have something nice to say about her. Really, Ashlee? She was humility personified. I so hope she sees all the love from her new home.

I don't post much, but I am one of the lucky ones that was able to meet Judy in person. We arranged to meet for lunch after several private messages were exchanged from this board. We live about an hour away so we met for lunch half way between our homes. We did this several times and had planned to do it again very soon when we both felt well enough. She was such an honest, strong, kind lady and a special friend. I just returned from vacation in Hawaii and was not prepared for this news. It still hasn't really sunk in.

I don't have the right words to say goodbye, but I know she is at peace in a better place and no longer suffering. I will see you again dear friend.

A rare visitor to this site nowadays it was with shock and sadness that I learned of Ashlee's passing - Ashlee, one of the 'names' and regular contributors to colon-talk.
