Anyone here using PSK who can recommend a reliable and organic source? Also, what is the dosing?

I take 2400 mg/day, half in the late morning, the other half in the evening. It's kind of pricey, but if you buy 5 bottles from mushroomscience you get another one free.

Same here - Mushroom Science. I was taking 3000 mg/day but now I do 2400 like Ehut.

I started at the same level I'm at. Have never noticed any side effects at all.

I use the same source as the others, 3600 mg/day, 3 capsules in the morning 3 later in the day. It's important to take them on an empty stomach I've been told. I take three first thing in the morning, and the others between lunch and dinner.

I just remembered the brand host defense I know that it's organic and was the product used in some studies just don't remember which

Thanks, Kenny! I took a look at Host Defense and after seeing the picture on the box, I understand why it's called "Turkey Tail!" So, I like that it is organic but now I am really confused. It is hard to know how to compare the dosing to Mushroom Science since the processing methods are different.

Yes, was there something in particular you wanted me to check out? This statement made me wary, to say the least:
"A hot water extract of Coriolus, VPS, was found to enhance development of large intestinal tumors in mice (12)."

Nothing in particular I did see that and had me scratching my head it would be nice to get clarification on that

VPS and PSK are different extracts of the mushroom used, Coriolos Versicolor. PSK is the extract which has shown the best results, particularly in Japan. This is the study which refers to the VPS extract causing an increase in the size of the tumors. At the end it is mentioned how PSK had the opposite effect on rats, it's an interesting read.

I take 3600 mg because that is also a recommended dose on the package:

"Suggested Use: Adults, take 1-3 capsules, twice daily, on an empty stomach."

I figure the max is fine, as there is no evidence of any type of side effect. The more the merrier.
