Oh you guys are making me cry! Thank you so very much for the encouragement! I live in Cooper, TX which is about 26 miles south of Paris, TX. The cancer center I go to allows us to pay what we can on our bill and we all pretend that the bill will get paid off. When all this first came to light, my surgeon wanted me to go to Baylor Medical in Dallas for my surgery which was extensive (proctocolectomy, vaginal repair, ostomy, and liver resection) but they wouldn't take me because of the no insurance problem. However, he was able to consult with a great surgeon. I came through it just fine despite all the concerns about my heart!

Of course, we don't know how this all will go. My status is NDY and I have reason to believe it will be for some time to come. After all, my granddaughter's 4 months old today! And, I'm still here!

Love you all for the encouragement and boost you give not only to me but others on this wonderful board!

God bless ~

Love you, Gwen. Please don't not seek other options based ONLY on financial issues. You don't know what is possible...what a hospital/surgeon/oncologist will accept or do until you explore or ask. I am praying for something special for you Gwen.

I just wanted you to know I have learned so much from you, about bravery and grace and living in the moment. You have made my brothers journey better by educating me on what matters. I am, again, in awe of your honesty, willingness and incredible bravery. Thank you.

Gwen - I'm thinking along the same lines as Alan. I don't think your warranty is ready to expire just yet, or if it is, I think you should be able to arrange for some kind of "extended warranty". At least that's how it looks to me. It seems to me that you still have a lot of mileage left, and we really need you here on this board for the kind of gentle comfort and support that you always provide and that we appreciate so much.

So far, you have generated over 3,000 messages here, and more than half of them have ended with the same two words of encouragement.

Take care now, and God bless.

PS: Here are some Cheetos !! Enjoy !!

Gwen,
I have always read your posts. You are such a good, caring, wise soul and such a strong presence on this forum. I wish all things good, peaceful and comforting for you and I am so sorry some of these supposedly smart, really smart folks out there can't get their act together and cure this crap. It just is not fair. I am just so sorry.

Michael,
I meant to take a pic of the tower with the hat today but chemo brain and fatigue from having fun with the Princess made me forget. Thank goodness, OSM came to the rescue!

I'm doing pretty well today. Like I said, fatigue worsened in a good cause but that's about it. Emotionally, I'm better as well. We are praying over everything. After my husband showed just how big the liver really is, it's given me a better perspective on why my liver functions are doing so well. Did you know it's the largest mass organ in the body??! I didn't! I thought it was little bigger than a kidney. So, as I tell my boys, you learn something new every day if you're paying attention.

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and don't forget to thank a vet if you see one and say a prayer for those who gave all.

God bless ~
Gwen
