Any natural suggestions for nausea caused from 5FU.

Ginger root, fresh. Made a tea of it or chew a bit, if you can. Ginger ale, also.

Yes, fresh ginger is best, used as Maia indicated. Also, Peppermint candies or teas or just peppermint oil to smell on it when feel nauseated. Russians also drink the juice of freshly made sourcraut (not the same as a surrogate thing called sourcraut in the US or Germany - fuuuuu ....) , or brine of the cucumbers in brine (not marinated cucs)... well, that is especially good for hangover - just the best treatment - too bad not really a problem for the cancer patients ...

I drank a lot of ginger tea - especially the Lemon Ginger flavor made by Stash Tea. I also found these ginger hard candies at an Asian grocery store and they helped a lot as well.

I also used these Queasy Pops lollipops which also come in a ginger flavor. I think they were originally made for pregnant women's morning sickness, but they really helped me after chemo. I couldn't find them in any local pharmacies so I ordered them from drugstore.com.

Marijuana was my saviour through chemo and it worked faster than any of the pills and helped keep my weight up. Since I have stopped smoking I have lost weight and I'm already too thin. It also was great with a comedy when feeling sad My doctor also tells me to use it for scans and stuff to help with anxiety.

dill pickle and the juice. I had the dry heaves and they offered a pickle. hum? stayed down., then the juice full of electralights so worked, again and again and again. I am going to do the 5fu pump next month.

While my co-worker was going through treatment she drank coke syrup over chipped ice and she swore by it. I only had a little stomach upset sometimes so I sucked on ginger candy. It seemed to help.

I made candied ginger and also used ginger syrup added to water or soda with lemon as a home-made ginger ale. It helped a lot.

I always peeled my ginger first, and then took the bits that were left after boiling it and dried them on a rack in the oven, then tossed in sugar. It came out similar to the ginger candy, with a little less bite.

If you don't want to use sugar, there are recipes on line that use artificial sweetners, Stevia and the like.
