Pregnancy after colon cancer

Postby Dorat » Thu Apr 24, 2014 9:56 am

I just got married six months ago and we were planning to have a baby, but then I was diagnosed with colon cancer stage 3 three months ago. I ask my oncology about me been able to get pregnant after chemo and he told me I shouldn't had any problem, that I should only wait six months after chemo. So far I am in my 4 chemo and the only side effect has been nauseas. I just want to know if there is any one in this site that had gone through chemo and then been able to get pregnant.

Check out link above to Allison's story - she was a 2009 Colondar Model. She has since had two beautiful, perfect children. And no recurrence that I'm aware of - and I think I'd have heard if she had.

I have a high school friend that has a daughter that had colon cancer years ago. She currently has a beautiful daughter and a handsome son. She is doing very well I might add. Good luck on the remainder of your treatments.
07/15/11 Stage III Rectal, 08/11 - 09/11 Chemo/rad 11/11 LAR - Whole rectum gone, ostomy, hysterectomy
01/12 Port placed, 01/12 thru 06/12 Folfox, Xelox 10/03/12 Reversal, Clear scan
And then the story continues.
Currently, remission round two!

I know this is an old thread but for others searching this topic I thought I would add an update.

Almost five years after diagnosis, I had a baby boy this past June.

Congratulations, few weeks after I wrote this posting on this forums my new husband and I got separated. I think my diagnose was to much for him to handle. Almost five years after diagnose I am happily married to a wonderful guy.
