Hi there,
Sorry to hear about your friends diagnosis.
What you have just mentioned is a standard first line treatment. I was on that treatment after I had reoccurrence.
They are most likely aiming to at least try shrunk the liver tumour(s) or even try reduce the amount of disease. Chemo before surgery is very common.
Your friend should prepare themselves as oxaliplatin has some Nasty side effects,
But everyone reacts differently.
