I'm doing extensive experiments right now to see what works best for me. I'm going to blog about it here - probably for my April blog. It's a tough job, but for you all, I'm willing to put myself through it!

I should note I do have my medical marijuana card from my oncologist.

My husband is having partial SBO twice a month. I think cannabis could help him during those times to relax & help with nausea. We probably could get a card(live in Northern CA). He doesn't want to smoke it-is vaporizing a better choice?

Interested in Belles experiments. :P

Thanks!

I believe vaporizing it is better but eating is best I believe. I think brownbagger knows more about this.myself I'll take the buzz!

As a child of the 60's I agree with you Kenny. But I don't think DH wants to eat brownies during SBO :D

For me it's about side effects. I have TERRIBLE nausea. I haven't tried it during one of these times (yet); right now just trying to get a baseline on different ways of consuming it - smoking, edibles, green dragon, etc. What I have noticed so far is it REALLY helps with my anxiety - which can be crippling at times. So if I don't get any other benefit out of it than reduction in anxiety - I'm all in. Hoping it would actually help control the disease - yeah, that would be nice, but I'm not thinking in those terms.

I've tried edibles (brownies, cookies, chocolate bar), smoking in a water bong, and recently green dragon - which brownbagger told me about. The trick is finding the right dosage - it varies so much from one thing to another. Smoking definitely hits the quickest, but it's hard on my lungs. I don't know that vaporizing would be any better. My husband smokes "e-cigarettes" and said it's similar to that - but when I tried his e-cigarette I coughed just as much as I did with the bong.

I'm experimenting right now with how much green dragon to take. I started small last night with a teaspoon - that wasn't enough; though it did help my anxiety without feeling any high. Tonight I'll try 2 teaspoons. Brownbagger uses a tablespoon (which is 3 teaspoons); but suggested I start small and work my way up to see what works.

I still have some BTO honey oil (I think that's what it's called) that I'm going to melt into some butter and make my own brownies with - we'll see how that works. And I have a lollipop to try still.

I bought most of this from a Medical Marijuana Dispensary. For the green dragon a friend who has a relative who grows medical marijuana gave me some fresh bud that we used. That was certainly helpful since this stuff isn't cheap.

I have been using cannabis oil for over a year now. I use a vaporizer. I find it particularly helpful as an appetite stimulator.

I was diagnosed with a radiation pneumonitis a month or so ago. Severe cough, shortness of breath and fatigue. I declined steroids and went back to my cannabis oil. It has been effective, I feel much better, although of course it may be that the pneumonitis is just running its own course. But the benefit for my lungs seems immediate.

Using a vaporizer is much less irritating for my lungs. I take 4 deep puffs twice a day, hold it it in and then exhale. The "high" effect (which I don't like) is minimal this way.

I'll second the anxiety issue. It works better than Xanax and actually puts me in a better mood.
