Patients get access to not-yet-registered immunotherapie

Postby Ratepo » Mon Feb 10, 2014 1:27 pm

Here in the Netherlands a website starts offering medicins that are not yet on the market. Here is the news article about it: http://www.mytomorrows.com/news-articles/
Concerning colorectal cancer the 2 treatments available are:

- For patients with progressive stage IV colorectal cancer myTomorrows currently has a Fast Track Treatment available. This treatment consists of a cancer vaccine that induces an immune response against a tumor specific antigen called MAGE A.
- For colorectal cancer patients with operable liver metastases, myTomorrows currently has another Fast Track Treatment available. This treatment consists of a cancer vaccine that induces an immune response against a tumor associated antigen called 5T4.

It's much in the news lately and am interested how it will work out. Not only if the treatments work but also the complete new way to obtain the medicins.

What encouraging news!! Thank you for posting this.
For patients with progressive stage IV colorectal cancer myTomorrows currently has a Fast Track Treatment available. This treatment consists of a cancer vaccine that induces an immune response against a tumor specific antigen called MAGE A.

For those who'll be keeping an eye on it, it's called MelCancerVac® (http://dandrit.com/ ) Data on CRC, so far: http://dandrit.com/clinical-trials.

For colorectal cancer patients with operable liver metastases, myTomorrows currently has another Fast Track Treatment available. This treatment consists of a cancer vaccine that induces an immune response against a tumor associated antigen called 5T4.

That one is a better known on, TroVax®. Data on CRC: http://www.oxfordbiomedica.co.uk/press- ... al-cancer/
Trials for other cancers here
The one completed for CRC: Effect of TroVax in Patients Having Colorectal Cancer With Liver Metastases Removed
One of the articles on it (full): Journal of Cancer Therapy, 2011, 2, 54-64 Immune Responses and Changes in Cellular Sub-Sets Detected in Colorectal Cancer Patients Vaccinated with MVA-5T4 (TroVax) Administered Alongside Two Different Chemotherapy Regimens

Bumping this because in these 3 years the project seems to have grown and might be helpful to more, even outside Netherlands, apparently.
