Somewhere, the shade of Abram Hoffer smiles. Hoffer, who discovered standard niacin treatments for atheroscelrotic heart disease in the 1950s, still arguably the best for some common "bad" lipid profiles, also advocated niacin intensive supplements as a cancer adjuvant program to complement radiation and chemo. Hoffer aimed to reinforce and complement conventional treatments by reducing side effects and boosting the immune system, sometimes with amazing results.
