"No CT evidence of recurrent neoplasm or metastatic disease.

Postby hopeful » Thu Jan 23, 2014 2:30 pm

Another year of being "unremarkable". Prayers answered.

I just wanted to post this for people going through chemo for stage III to let you know that it's possible to come out the other end and have things pretty much normal again. 4 years and 2 months NED.
Caregiver to husband diagnosed 11/09 stage IIIb colon cancer
Surgery 11/5/09
12 rounds FOLFOX beginning 12/18/09
Folfox finished 6/3/10
Last scan Jan 2015
NED since Dec. 2009

Congratulations! :D Isn't "unremarkable" a funny word? Every time I see it on my scans I think, "No, it's remarkable that I don't have cancer and the scan is clear!"
Stage IVb, liver/lung mets 8/4/2010
Xelox+Avastin 8/18/10 to 10/21/2011

Double lung surgery + ileo reversal 2/2012
Adjuvant FUDR + Xeloda
VATS rt. lung 12/2012 - benign granuloma!
VATS left lung 11/2013

Sums it up for me. I'm good with being unremarkable.

So happy to see your post. Our guys were diagnosed around the same time so I always look for your posts. I haven't been on the site for awhile so grateful that I caught it today. My husband had his "unremarkable" checkup in early December. CEA lowest it has been at 0.5 and scans all clear. 1 more year and we may get to hear the cured word. Congrats to you and your family.

My husband's CEA was exactly the same as yours. I haven't been on the site for a while either. I think it's good to let people here know that there is hope and that things do finally get back to normal for many people.

Congrats to you and your family too!
