Hello everybody! This is my first time posting. My husband at age 52 was diagnosed with cancer in the cecum on 1/31/11. He has his 3 year check coming up at MD anderson cancer center in a few weeks. He underwent surgery on 2/4/11, followed by six months of folfox chemo. He has had multiple scans and blood work every 3 months since his surgery and has been clear of any evidence of active cancer. As you can all understand, the anxiety with this up coming visit is starting to pile up. I pray all will still be clear as I hear that making it 3 years clear is a good sign that we may be on the way to being told were cured. At five years, our oncologist at MD anderson said he will consider him cured, not in remission, if all is still clear at that point! I pray all the time for all those fighting this fight along with their care givers. These past 3 years have not been easy, but you somehow get through it. Don't ever give up, for this type of cancer is curable at even it's latest stage. I will continue to pray for all of you always.
God Bless,
Deb M.
