CRGuy,
I am sorry to hear of your father's passing.
I wish I could attribute this story I remember reading. Someone who had lost a loved one wrote along the lines of, "I must not think that he has been taken from me -- although I feel the loss dreadfully. I can only deal with his passing if I remember that he has been received -- received into Heaven and welcomed at the gates. I know he will be there to welcome me when it is my time to leave this earth."
Praying for comfort and for only good memories,
Dianne

What a beautiful post - I've always believed that a father is the biggest role model for the kind of man his son will become. Your father must have been an amazing man CR and I'm sure he is very proud of the man you are. I am so very sorry for your loss. Love and prayers for you and your family during this time. Sometimes the most difficult time is the waiting ~ knowing what is coming but not knowing when and watching your loved one as they search for the light. I know you know that your Dad is at peace now. May you find peace as well.

So sad... Hold on to the memories and know that your dad is not suffering anymore. He is in heaven smiling down on the ones he leaves behind. Peace to you and your family during this most difficult time. May your guardian angel take you under its wings to help you through this. Nothing about life or death is easy.

"I see your light come shining from the west down through the east, any day now, any day now, I shall be released."
Beautiful Song and words of the comfort he must be feeling.

Now to comfort you and your mom, sending peace, hugs and the positives for the healing of your dad's loved ones.

My condolences to you, your mother, and family. This poem I just recently heard at the service for the passing of the mother of a friend.

WE REMEMBER THEM
At the rising of the sun and its going down
We remember them
At the blowing of the wind and the chill of winter
We remember them
At the opening of the buds and the rebirth of spring
We remember them
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer
We remember them
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn
We remember them
At the beginning of the year and when it ends
We remember them
As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now part of us,
As we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength, We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart, We remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share, We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make, We remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs, We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now part of us,
As we remember them.
Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.
