New Year's Eve poll

Postby skypup » Mon Dec 30, 2013 11:15 am

As we go into 2014, with so many of us wondering how many new years we will be graced with, what is just one thing you want to make come true in the coming year?

Posted with gratefulness for all of you!

Hello, Skypuppy, and happy new year!

I'm sure you did not want us all to chime in and say the obvious: A cure for cancer for YOU, Ashlee H, Gwen, Jeanette, Ray, Rhea, Debzac, Cherie, etc, etc, etc, etc (and everyone here, of course!) Absolutely nothing comes to my mind other than that. I'm drawing a total blank.

I would, though, like to know if my husband will be able to get a bone marrow transplant. All of the unknowns regarding him are getting to me (and him, of course) and making everyday life quite a bit more challenging.

I am so grateful for all of you, and so heartsick for those of you suffering.

Love to all,

Bev

I would add that I hope there is some kind of resolution on health care. Too many cancer (and other chronic illness patients) have suffered financially for a long time. I hope that situation improves.

So asides from somehow being cancer free... I would love more time, and time where I feel good. Where I don't have aches and pains, and I can eat what I want and enjoy it.

In don't want to have to tell my girls that i might die...I want to see them both graduate from high school, so I need 7 more years :)

Much love

Cures, yes, absolutely, but I would very much like to know what causes cancer.

That would just make 2014 for me!

Happy New Year, everyone.

A cure for cancer, or even easier, more tolerable treatment, tops my list. After that, I wish I could keep my individual health insurance. Even the premiere, platinum policies don't include both of my oncologist or include my two favorite local hospitals. I am totally angry and disgusted with my government for making me a sacrificial lamb to a political agenda. I am frightened about my ability to get the best care going forward. Just what a Stage 4 cancer patient needs.

Thank you, Bev, for the wish for the cure(s). Having two different cancers (colon & rectal) has made it all too much, sometimes, to contemplate. I need 2 cures. That's because I'm special. Seriously, I decided my next goal is to see Christmas in 2014 through my granddaughter's eyes. That means I plan on being for a whole 'nother year. Now, if she'd just listen to Grandma and get here! DIL is hurting but nothing with a regular pattern. Bless her heart, she's just so uncomfortable. I raised a good man - he's rubbing her back and doing anything he can think of to help her rest because she's also very tired. She's still working. I don't know how she does it! So there's my wish for 2014 - to experience it all.
God bless~

I'd like for my mom to be able to go back home. She's been living with me/taking care of me for over a year now. I want my health to improve so she can go home. She retired August 2012 and a few days after was out here with me and has been here ever since. She needs to go home and be with my dad. It's been so long. I'm so thankful for her help. It'd be hard without it.

2013 was filled to the brim with bad news. Almost every Dr's appointment for the first 6 months of my journey resulted in bad news and the ensuing depression. My greatest wish for 2014, other than the obvious wish for a cure for everyone, is that news will be mostly positive and that I stay as upbeat as possible through it all.

I wish the same for all of you as well.

2014 adds up to 7, so that's a lucky year!

I would love to just feel 'normal' and hope that my sense of humor holds up for the rest of my treatment. My latest line is "Hey, can you get me this or that cuz I haz the ass cancer." My kids are always "You can't use that ass cancer card all the time." Husband "Let's just go eat out, you're gonna get the shits anyways, so you may as well have a nice meal to crap out." I'm usually the BUTT of the jokes these days, but my family deals better with humor than sadness.

Just trying and hoping to make this cancer experience as 'fun' as it can be in 2014! :D

Happy New Year everyone-Hope you all find a little happiness on this stupid roller coaster ride.
