radiation side effects? jpouches?

Just wondering, how many of you (that ended up with jpouches) had radiation before surgery?
and how it affected that?
i've heard rumors of radiation damaging sphincter muscles...wondering how big of an impact that is?

also, how soon do side effects start showing up?
I had 4 rounds of chemo and pretty much didn't have side effects (some hair thinning, a little more tired, but that was the most of it)
so i'm hoping and praying that it continues on that route.
but after the plannign session yesterday and seeing exactly where they'll be radiating...man, this whole things been pretty humiliating, but the x in the crack of my ass....oh come on!
this is just too much.
